“Ain’t it funny how life works. I was just 18 and thought I’d found everything, sunshine, waves, good friends and good times. I was living in the Caribbean making just enough moola to get by and lovin’ every minute of every day…then life dealt me a speed bump! I was attacked by a tiger shark off the coast of Venezuela. After a three hour drive in the back of a truck, unconscious and losing half the blood in my body, I was taken to a little town where locals still use donkeys for transportation! Six hours of surgery and 250 stitches later, I woke up to what was left of my right leg. Oh Yeah. Good times… It took nearly a year to walk again but a beautiful thing happened to me during my recovery… My grandmother bought me my first guitar!”
Justin James is as unique as the story behind his music. Born and raised in Vancouver, he grew up with music all around him. The soulful jazzy/pop singer has since lived in Southern California, Hawaii and The Dominican Republic and has worked extremely hard to forge a loyal fan base wherever he goes. With infectious tunes like “California” and “American Girl” you’re either going to wish you lived in the sunshine… or thankful that you do!
